Miranda Arocho

meet Miranda

hola. my name is Miranda Arocho. I'm an independent author and the mind behind mind is matter, a Substack bulletin offering spiritual reflections on living more mindfully.

writing has been a passion of mine for as long as my memory can stretch. as a child, at the disapproval of my teachers, I would idly scribble silly stories on the margins of my schoolwork and pass flirtatious letters of poetry to my favorite boys in class; though I was typically an obedient and mild-mannered girl, I refused to adhere to rules that stifled my innate desire to write. I have persisted in this creative pursuit throughout my life, publishing both digitally and in print, my work resonating with a global audience. currently, I have aspirations to publish in the Apple Bookstore again and expect to continue working with Substack.

much of my work is inspired by insights gained in meditation, my appetite for spirituality taking root at a tender age as well. nurtured by a burgeoning curiosity in philosophy, my collegiate studies oscillated between often times contrasting ideas, such as French Existentialism and Tibetan Buddhism, and I have persevered in digesting ancient and modern wisdom ever since, intensifying my commitment to the practice of meditation.

when I’m not writing, I indulge in photography. the allure of capturing a given moment and immortalizing it through the lens of a camera has always felt like an exquisite magic trick to me and I plan on curating a comprehensive portfolio beyond instagram in the near future.
more recently, I have settled down in my vibrant hometown of Memphis, TN with my beloved fur babies, lovely husband, and beautiful stepson.
